A Faster Firefox
Lots of people online have switched to using the Firefox browser because it’s supposed to be more secure. I use IE7 as well and find no problems with it, but I did notice Firefox was slower onĀ my computer until I applied the changes in this tip.
Before I share this, I want you to know I did not originate these changes and can’t guarantee you will have the same results I did, but it is changes to a text file so you can always change it back.
Here’s what I did:
1. Open FireFox and enter about:config into the address bar
2. Respond to the warning box to continue
3. Search for these entries and make the changes indicated
network.http.piplining (double click to change to true)
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests (double click to change to 30)
network.http.proxy.pipelining (double click to change to true)
4. Right click anywhere and select New >> Integer
Enter nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set the value to 0
5. Exit Firefox and next time you run hang on to your hat.

Interesting: I’m printing that out to try it out when I have time, I’ve been using firefox the last year or so
and I love it as compared to IE… but there are times
when I get really irritated too with it, so maybe
these changes will help me out ??
I’ll have to let you know (G)!
Thanks for sharing!
