One of the ways I use to get more contacts is by posting videos. A lot of the friends I talk to say they can’t make them, but after a little probing I find out they haven’t even tried.
So here’s a video I made to get people to visit this blog:
Now here’s a video that shows how easy it was to make FREE!
Have fun and I’ll see you all online!

Sorry for not posting, but things got hectic over Christmas and then I had to make a trip to Orange County California to see my uncle who is battling cancer again. It started in 2003 when he was diagnosed with Lung Cancer from smoking, then after rediation and chemo he beat that one and they found a spot on his brain. Again he triumphed and last month he fell and shattered a disk in his spine. When they went in to plan the surgery they found cancer there too.
Now he is in a hospice care facility for the VA and can’t walk anymore. I spent a few days with him and for the first time since Thanksgiving I got him in a wheelchair for a walk in the sun. It cheered him up a lot, but once he got outside the first thing he said was, “Gimme a cigarrette”. Oh well, I guess it won’t matter now.
The moral of this story is if you smoke quit, if you don’t never start. I have outlived all my family but him because I quit 40 years ago, now it looks like it won’t be much longer and I will be alone.

I am just about to swear off email altogether if it gets any worse. It is certainly not the communication tool it once was. But to network with the masses that haven’t discovered Skype yet, it’s the only way to get the initial connection made.
The last few weeks I have noticed a growing trend of people sending me official sounding messsages about details I MUST take care of, then inside a link that reads:
Having trouble viewing this email? Click here to view as a webpage.
Don’t worry, I’m not stupid enough to click one of them and I hope you aren’t either.
That’s when I decided to make a post here to see how many of you are seeing the same stuff?
You can’t be too careful with everyone trying to trash your system at every turn. I must throw out 10 emails for every one I read and I can’t help but think a few good ones are in the mix, but it’s not worth the risk to open them and see.
Of course you still need Windows Defender and Avast anti-virus running free, but there is no sense testing them if you don’t need to. I would rather play it safe.
See you all online!

Lots of people online have switched to using the Firefox browser because it’s supposed to be more secure. I use IE7 as well and find no problems with it, but I did notice Firefox was slower on my computer until I applied the changes in this tip.
Before I share this, I want you to know I did not originate these changes and can’t guarantee you will have the same results I did, but it is changes to a text file so you can always change it back.
Here’s what I did:
1. Open FireFox and enter about:config into the address bar
2. Respond to the warning box to continue
3. Search for these entries and make the changes indicated
network.http.piplining (double click to change to true)
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests (double click to change to 30)
network.http.proxy.pipelining (double click to change to true)
4. Right click anywhere and select New >> Integer
Enter nglayout.initialpaint.delay and set the value to 0
5. Exit Firefox and next time you run hang on to your hat.

Have you ever had the experience of viewing a website and when you leave, a pop up claims there is a live agent waiting to give you a discount?
Just for grins I clicked the cancel and tried a conversation with one of these pseudo live agents and they are robots indeed. If you look closely you can find a link on most of them to offer you the same service and a few minutes on the resulting website will quickly disclose the truth.
It just makes me wonder how stupid we seem to marketers that deploy these robots. The websites that furnish them claim a high percentage of deals ’saved’ but just can’t swallow that.
Would you insult the intelligence of your prospects by taking this step?

Since we have been talking about networking, let’s think about how can we make them grow larger?
The very best way is through the leverage of exponential expansion.
Growing your network by participating in multi-level organizations of any kind that allow you to contact your team works wonders. Just make sure you don’t hammer them with advertising, send them help to expand their contacts instead and they will be expanding yours at the same time.
There are lots of absolutely free multi-level team builders around today, so grab one with a good sales page and start promoting it with free advertising. Then cultivate your contacts by helping them and watch it grow.
If you need a subject to get started helping them, tell them about this blog!
Thanks for reading and I’ll see you all online!

Everywhere you turn in Networking circles, you hear the 95% failure rate thrown around. I was doing some browsing through some Ning MLM Networks this morning and it was clear that no matter how good the intentions of the originators were, most of them are short lived.
If you examine some of the dates on activities, I think you might agree with me that it’s not always the person that tried starting the community that’s responsible for the apathy that sets in almost immediately. I see the same thing happening to my own effort at getting my Network Personally group off the ground.
It’s a simple matter to enroll in anything online, but without taking the next step and filling out your profile with a photo to add a personal touch and some real content instead of just advertising offers, it’s not going to last long. Visitors quickly see through that.
So if you want to get involved in Networking Online Today, I would encourage you to take it seriously and plan on spending at least a little time. The rewards are well worth it.
See you all online!

It doesn’t matter why you are online, it’s a job to stay organized with all the information overload pouring in every day. I have a little tool I discovered a while back that now I can’t imagine being without, so I want to share it with you.
Another tool I use is Camtasia for making videos, so I made one to give you a quick overview of Treepad Lite and a few tricks I learned. It doesn’t cure all my bad habits, but it gets better as I go along.
The handiest gimick I use is to create a folder for all my Treepads that I can open from my desktop, then I can open several of them at once and keep them in my taskbar for quick access. I can even copy from one treepad to another one this way.
I’m sure there are more sophisticated tools around, but this one is simple and it’s free. That works for me just fine.

For effective Networking Online Today we need to be a leader and leaders train others. One of the easiest ways to accomplish that goal is with PDF files for reports and ebooks. It used to cost a small fortune to create these, but since Open Office came out more people are becoming aware they can do a first class job FREE.
The reason you want to take this path, is PDF files are taking over as the distribution method of choice. They can be viewed on any computer with a free reader like Foxit Reader or even the old bloated Adobe Acrobat Reader that most people have installed already and don’t realize there is a better way.
Download your copy at http://OpenOffice.org and get started today.
Another tip, if you include a link in your document, make sure it’s one that will be around a long time. If you have even a thought it could change, use a link on your own domain and redirect it. That way if it ever does change you can update it and not lose out on all the viral traffic created by passing your PDF document around.

We talked about a few tools that aid the Online Networker and there are lots more. One question that seemed to pop up often when I was starting out, was should I pay to use tools to make money?
The obvious answer is of course, if they provide enough additional revenue to support themselves. Then as time went on I discovered there is even more, because some tools can actually become a profit center and produce a significant income over and above their cost. Now it comes down to how much time and effort needs to be expended to accomplish that goal and will it distract you from your main agenda?
There are some like http://freedomresidualincome.com/couchcash/ that do it passivly. I signed up, let my mentor set everything up for me and bring the first visitors in, then I sat back and collected a check after my first month. How cool is that?
So look around and ask a few questions before you rush out and pay good money for something that can end up paying you.
